“Painting in semi-precious stones”.  Personal exhibition of Tamara Vorobieva.

  The 14 of august the unique exhibition of Tamara Vorobieva’s works called “Painting in semi-precious stones” was opened in the museum of stone-cutting and jewelry arts. Painting in semi-precious stones is the name of the exhibition and at the same time is the appellation of the original technique, which the author used. By the way, this technique is very difficult and labour-consuming. Painting in semi-precious stones is made of the crumbs of different semi-precious stones. The semi-precious’ crumbs are stuck to the natural stone or any artificial material. There are many various methods of working of stone in the Ural from the 18 century, but this rare technique appeared not long ago and is considered innovatory by right. The author of this technique was Tamara’s father – Mikhail Kolesnikov. Tamara Mikhailovna, which had got jewelry education, had mastered father’s technique in 1989 and her works were exhibited at the famous salon “The color stones” in Moscow in 1991! It was the great success! By the way, it follows her until now.

  Today there are the pictures of different genres at the personal exhibition of Tamara Vorobieva: besides traditional landscape and still-life she is interested in architectural theme, animal genre – stern birds of prey and exotic animals  (picture “The night in South America”) and abstraction as well. The artist gives particular attention to distant exotic lands. These works, which have sonorous, rich coloring, convey an atmosphere of burning transoceanic countries. It’s astonishingly the more so, as Tamara doesn’t almost travel in her real life. She takes the plots for her pictures from friends’ stories. Nevertheless, Tamara Vorobieva is an inveterate traveler, because she travels in her pictures. In every work the painter demonstrates consummate mastery. Tamara experiments with color and texture.

  Today Tamara Vorobieva is the well-known master, participant of various all-Russian and regional exhibitions, she had already personal exhibitions as well. Tamara’s pictures in semi-precious stones are situated at the funds of Urals’s museums (museum’s centre “Gamaun” and museum of fine arts in Yekaterinburg).

“Native space”. Personal exhibition of Svetlana Titovna Sedih.

  The 15 of august the first personal exhibition of embroidering pictures by Svetlana Titovna Sedih was opened in the centre of artistic handicraft and people’s art “Gamaun”. Svetlana Sedih is an interesting and perspective artist, besides, she is a self-educated master. Svetlana had worked as an engineer on a factory for 37 years. In 2001 she unexpectedly began to embroider in satin-stitch (this technique is called “artistic satin-stitch”). This passion turned out to be very serious and fruitful. She started to create pictures of uncommon beauty. The master creates her pictures in different genres. There are still-lifes, genre-painting, animal genre, but, perhaps, the landscapes on motifs of well-known Russian painters 19-20 centuries are the most attractive. Svetlana Titovna interprets famous images, gives them a new life. Artistic satin-stitch creates miracles; it revives a surface of a canvas. Svetlana really has a clever pair of hands. In every master’s work you feel Svetlana’s sincere love for her work!
